Mining Site Operator
Job description
We are looking for a dedicated Mining Farm Operator to maintain and optimize our mining infrastructure, ensuring its peak performance and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- 24/7 Monitoring & Operations: Conduct continuous, remote, and on-site monitoring of mining facility operations through dedicated management systems. Track overall hash rate, efficiency, and pool performance.
- Preventive & Corrective Maintenance: Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on mining rigs (ASICs), including cleaning, fan replacement, and inspection. Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware failures (hash boards, PSUs, control boards) to minimize downtime.
- Hardware Management: Manage the entire lifecycle of mining hardware, including installation, configuration, de-racking, and repair or replacement of faulty units. Maintain accurate inventory records of all equipment on-site.
- Facility & Environment Monitoring: Monitor and maintain optimal environmental conditions within the mining facility, including temperature, humidity, and airflow. Ensure proper functioning of cooling systems (fans, ventilation, immersion cooling).
- Power & Infrastructure Management: Monitor electrical systems, including power distribution units (PDUs), circuits, and consumption. Identify and escalate power anomalies or inefficiencies to prevent damage and optimize energy usage.
- Troubleshooting & Diagnostics: Quickly identify the root cause of issues, whether hardware-related, network-based, or software/configurations, and execute effective solutions to restore functionality.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain detailed logs of all maintenance activities, hardware failures, and site incidents. Generate daily/weekly reports on site uptime, efficiency, and productivity for management.
- Safety & Security: Adhere to and enforce all site safety protocols, including electrical safety and asset protection procedures. Monitor site security systems and access controls.
Requirements
- College degree or above in Computer Science or a related field.
- Proficiency in computer hardware and software applications.
- At least 2 years of IT work experience; troubleshooting experience is preferred.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
- Physically fit to lift items ~25kg or above.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Possession of a valid driver's license.
- Knowledge of power generators is a plus.
Schedule
Monday to Friday, Weekends as needed
